We are the Medway Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
From Station Road we will cross the Cuxton Road and walk past the church through Cuxton woods, where we will follow the North Downs Way through Upper Bush and onto Ranscombe Farm nature reserve. We will then walk through the reserve to the Darnley Mausoleum, Cobham. We may have a break here. After this we will walk back through Ranscombe , through Cuxton to complete the walk. If there is a lot of rain the walk maybe muddy in parts. The autumn colours of the trees should help make this a pleasant walk, and we walk past some of the newly planted vines. We can visit the pub at the end of the walk. The pub does serve food, including Sunday dinner (probably best to book). PLEASE NOTE: There will be several parades and church services throughout the Medway Towns on Sunday for Remembrance Sunday. This will involve some temporary road closures. Also, the Strood exit also for Cuxton, on the M2 (London bound) is closed. People coming on the walk, which starts from Cuxton, may want to leave a bit earlier or plan a different route. We will stop on the walk at 11am to honour those who lost their lives.
Terrain: Some ascents and descents. Some walking along a roads-at the beginning and at the end. Mainly walking on public footpaths.
