Our walk starts in the village of Llanfrynach in the car park at the rear of the now closed White Swan Inn. From here we do most of the accent on quiet well surfaced lanes. We take the footpath up the valley of Cwm Oergwm above the stream, providing us an excellent opportunity to experience time in a quiet part of the Bannau Brycheiniog national park. We plan to stop for coffee at the edge of the wood to enjoy views of the mountain peaks. After walking further up the valley the lunch stop is planned to be beside the shallow waterfalls of the Nant Menasgin beneath the peak of Fan y Big and the Cefn Cyff ridge. All stiles have been replaced with gates to improve accessibility by the National Parks volunteers.
