Starting at Low Mill in Farndale, we will walk the Daffodil path to Churchhouses and then visit the church where there is a normally a carpet of daffodils ( we will take coffee break here) . We then have a fairly stiff climb via Potters Nab up to the disused railway line at High Blakey Moor and follow the railway line to the Lion Inn ( lunch outside, possibility of visit inside). After lunch, we'll continue on railway line along Blakey Ridge, with fine views over Farndale and the old iron ore workings on the other side of the valley. Eventually we turn sharp right over a faint track over the moor to cross the road and descend , quite steeply , down towards Low Mill and our start point. No dogs please apart from assistance dogs as maybe livestock on route.
I cannot guarantee daffodils and on the recce on 5th March the daffodils were some way to being out ( although as always domestic daffodils were already putting on a good show). Hopefully another month on they will be out in all their usual glory....fingers crossed!.
