Our walk today starts from the Captain Webb Memorial Fountain at the eastern end of High Street, where it meets King Street, Dawley.
The route combines Telford Coronation Walks 19 and 20. Mainly woodland on good paths and tracks, visiting the modern village of Lightmoor for the coffee stop (please bring your own refreshments).
Several hills, none of them steep, no stiles.
Car parking: There are several free car parks in Dawley.
You’ll almost certainly be arriving via the B4373. Dave recommends Meadow Road car park as the easiest to find:
Meadow Road car park TF4 2HN. From B4373 at Heath Hill Roundabout, take 1st Left (Dawley "P") into Captain Webb Drive and after a few hundred yards turn R into Meadow Road.
From the car park you can cut through a short alley into High St. The Memorial Fountain is to your left at the eastern end of High St.
If full, there are several alternatives only a short walk from our starting point:
Lord Hill car park, Lord Hill, King Street TF4 2EX - this is more or less opposite the Memorial Fountain.
George St car park TF4 3AA. From here you can cut through to High Street (you might need to ask a local), then turn right and walk the length of High St to the Memorial.
Station Road car park TF4 2NW. Corner of Station Road and Burton St. Burton Street runs into the top end of High Street. Walk down High St to the Memorial.
