We are the Leicestershire & Rutland Walking Group. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A 9.5 mile moderate walk along dales and across farmland.
Meet at Alstonefield village hall car park on Beresford Lane DE6 2FR (donations requested). If this car park gets full there is alternative parking at the Playing Field car park (donations) or the Peak Park car park (£4.75 all day, by card or RingGo app).
The walk goes out along Mill Dale and Biggin Dale then along a track across fields to Hartington where we stop for lunch. Hartington has a shop / cafe with indoor and outdoor seating and a pub, and public toilets. We'll stop for around 45 minutes for lunch so bringing your own food is recommended, but snack items and drinks can be purchased at the cafe.
The return leg of the walk is across fields and along Beresford Dale.
There are toilets at the Peak Park car park near the start / end of the walk.
Meet at the village hall car park on Beresford Lane, Alstonefield DE6 2FR. No set charge. Donations to the car park are requested.
