Area long walk. Walk is just over 10 miles long with 1000ft ascent.
From Disley station we climb up onto the gritstone trail to Bollinhurst Bridge on to Cock Knoll and Dissop Head. Past the Bowstones and towards Sponds Hill. Shortly before Sponds Hill we turn off and head for Dale Top where we will stop for the first of two breaks. After Dale Top we skirt round the southern edge of Lyme Park and past Shrigley Chapel. We continue on to Green Farm and into Lyme Park where we will have our second stop. Dropping down to the Macclesfield Canal walk north along the towpath until we get to the Ladybrook Valley Interest Trail which we take going east. This also forms part of the GM Ringway and has the roundels to prove it! This brings us into Lyme Park by the main car entrance. We then go back to the station along the higher level private road.
No booking required, although we do ask that everyone carries an ICE card - we can supply if needed.
