Starting from Egham we walk via Alderhurst to enter Windsor Great Park at the Egham Wick gate. We will then skirt part of Virginia Water, and pass the Totem Pole (soon to be taken down). We will continue through Valley Gardens before stopping for lunch at the Savill Garden Visitior Centre. After lunch we will walk through the Great Park passing the Copper Horse before following the Long Walk down into Windsor.
Mostly on paths and estate roads - the former may be muddy in places.
Suggested train is the South Western Railway train from Waterloo to Weybridge departing 9.22 calling at Clapham Junction at 9.32, and all stations thereafter including Chiswick at 9.47, Brentford at 9.53 arriving at Egham at 10.21.
The return journey is either from Windsor and Eton Central for Slough and Paddington (every 20 minutes), or from Windsor and Eton Riverside via Richmond to Waterloo (every 30 minutes)
It would appear that the cheapest option is to purchase two off peak day singles, depending on which way you wish to return. Freedom Pass users will need a single from Feltham to Egham, and a single either from Windsor & Eton Central to Slough (for the Elizabeth Line) or from Windsor & Eton Riverside to Feltham.
