We are the Bury St Edmunds Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Meet outside Ely Railway Station where toilets will be available. This is a varied circular walk using The Ouse Valley Path to Little Thetford where we shall have a short break then return through fields and the golf course to the city. We loop around part of the city and after a picnic lunch stop near the cathedral we'll continue via Hereward Way and the Ouse Valley Way.
There are free all day car parks in Ely with Ship Lane and Forehill being the closest. Please allow 15minutes to walk to the station.
UPDATE
There are trains from Bury at 08.29 and Thetford at 09.00 which will get you to Ely in a shorter time than road travel.. This day is a designated strike day but according to the website Greater Anglia trains will be running on these lines. However it is best to check the day before you travel and if in doubt travel by car.
