We are a friendly, socially active Ramblers Group welcoming all who enjoy walking. Our walks programme is extensive and varied covering all days of the week.
From the Great Tattenhams bus stop, we'll head to the walk start point at the Lunch Box tea hut. (Anyone choosing to come by car should meet us there at 11.20). After a short takeaway coffee stop we cross the racecourse, pass the Gallops and Walton Downs with a fairly long climb out of the valley before stopping at the Fox and Hounds in Walton on the Hill for lunch. We return to Tattenham Corner via Withybed Corner for the bus home. Please text by midday Tuesday 24th if you want a pub lunch.
Update: Assuming the 420 bus is on time, we should arrive at the Tea Hut at 11.20, and hope to start the described walk at about 11.30. There is a bit of uphill walking after lunch, as well as that already mentioned before lunch – but we can take it easy. The actual walk length is in fact 5 miles, but those travelling by bus should add on an extra mile.
Don’t forget to text by midday Tuesday if you want a pub lunch. It would also be helpful if you could let us know (by text) if you intend to go direct to the Tea Hut meeting point
(in case we need to contact you).
