Hello Everyone
We've ventured far and wide just lately so this Sunday we're back on home turf with leaders Jean & Phil on a walk that explores places a little off the beaten track so to speak, whilst touching Cannock Chase only briefly. Varied terrain throughout including a short pull up to the summit of Etchinghill.
Why not join us? You're very welcome to do so. Don't worry, we're friendly enough!
Registration: 09.45. Walk start: 10.00. Walk leaders: Jean (07419 113055) & Phil (07904 199278)
No facilities at the start but loo's available at lunchtime.
⚠️Our own members should note there's no rendezvous at Hednesford for this local walk. Please go direct to the start.
Post walk refreshments at our hosts The Chase pub.
See you all there on Sunday morning!
Directions. The start is located in the northwestern suburbs of Rugeley and is easily accessible from the nearby through route of the A460 (A51).
From the south. Pick up the A51 at Lichfield and head north towards Rugeley. At the A51/A515 island bear left, still A51, direction Rugeley. After 4 miles bear left at the island onto the A460 via Brereton to Rugeley town centre. Pass under the railway bridge and continue for 350 yards to the Miners island where straight on, still A460. After 500 yards turn left at the lights into Hagley Road and follow uphill for 600 yards where The Chase pub is on your right just over the summit. Pass the pub and turn immediately right into the car park entrance. Please park at the far end, thank you. Our leaders have permission to park here courtesy of the pub management.
From the north approach via the A51 from Wolseley Bridge just west of Rugeley then at the first island take the second exit onto the A460 towards the town centre. After 0.5 mile turn right at the next island and proceed for a further 0.6 mile to the lights where turn right into Hagley Road, then as above.
