Our walk begins on Long Street ,Rudston.
We have been advised to park away from the residential properties that are at the top of the Lane nearest to the pub. There is also additional small amount of parking, roadside near the Sports ground.
We walk through the village, visiting the Monolith in the church yard as we are passing. At over 25ft it is the tallest standing magalith, (standing stone) in the UK,.After a short walk on the road, kerbside path, we pick up the public footpath passing by Argam Dikes. This was a prehistoric earthbank which unfortunately is no longer visible.
Crossing back over the road we walk through the amenity field of Thorpe Hall back into Rudston. Using public footpaths we climb up to Woldgate which on a clear day gives lovely views over the hills to Boynton.
After a short spell on the road we turn off heading back, downhill this time,to return to Rudston walking alongside the Gypsey Race to our cars.
🥾 New walkers are always welcome to join the group for 2/3 walks before becoming members of The Ramblers. Membership forms are available if needed. Please make yourself known to the walk leader before we start who will be able to supply an In Case of Emergency Card (ICE Card).
