This walk takes us from the heights of Shooters Hill, through parks and ancient woodland, down to the Thames at Erith, mainly following the Green Chain. The terrain is moderately hilly, descending overall but with a few climbs on the way. Boots/good walking shoes are advisable, and there may be mud. Pace will be moderate, with occasional stops at points of interest.
Loos are available on train, at Falconwood Station (inside barriers), and at Lesnes Abbey at lunchtime.
Lunch: Picnic at Lesnes Abbey, where there is a kiosk and toilets. Kiosk is usually very busy, so bring food.
Trains: London Bridge 9:50, Lewisham 10:02 arr. Falconwood Station 10:15. Return from Erith Rail Station via Southeastern trains on Greenwich line. Both stations within TFL boundary.
