The walk begins from the Millennium Wheel Drive car park, located on the North side of the Clyde & Forth canal. After the hour or so drive from Ayrshire we will visit the Falkirk Wheel facilities before heading east along the Clyde & Forth canal towards the Kelpies. We will have a break along the canal before reaching the Kelpies where we will stop for lunch. The return route will see us follow the River Carron towards Langlees woods and eventually re-joining the canal and returning to the Falkirk Wheel.
If you have not stood at the foot of the Kelpies then this is a not to be missed walk, they are truly stunning. We will also be able to wonder at the Falkirk wheel which is the world first and only rotating boat lift.
The route itself is on tow path and shared cycle and pedestrian paths. No poles or gaiters required and walking shoes or trainers would be adequate.
