This walk in the Lammermuir Hills takes in Gamelshiel Castle before climbing to the summit of Spartleton Hill where it is possible to see as far as Bass Rock and Berwick Law. Following the Old Herring Road, the walk loops back towards and past Whiteadder Reservoir and onto Priestlaw Hill, where again there are great views in all directions.
There are some stiles to climb and fallen trees to negotiate. Poles and boots recommended.
Circular walk, grade B+, strenuous. Hiking boots and poles are recommended.
