Overview

From Walking Highlands: "This easy, waymarked circuit explores part of Glen Tanar, clothed with the largest remnant of Caledonian Scots pinewoods on the south side of the Cairngorms, Watch out for wildlife such as red squirrels, crested tits, cross-bills - and if you are very lucky - Capercaillie."

This is a rather easy and flat (50m ascent) forest walk which shouldn't take more than 2 hours, but account for 3 hours in case we want to have multiple stops for pictures/lunch.

We will follow the longest route (green trail) which is 5 miles in length and mostly follows the Water of Tanar river. The meeting point is Braeloine car park under the coordinates provided.
