A 14 mile linear walk from Glynde Station to Seaford Station. Please note the start time. The train from Brighton is due in at 10.18am and we will leave straight after it arrives. We leave the station and walk through the village out to the A27 where we will cross the road and ascend to Firle Beacon. At the top, we turn left and follow the SDW into Alfriston stopping at the church for a lunch break. Public toilets in the village.
After, we will cross the river and turn immediately right heading towards Cuckmere Haven and after a while we turn off into Littington. Briefly heading uphill and then down to rejoin the SDW into West Dean. Toilets at Cuckmere Haven. We then cross the bridge and turn left at the Golden Galleon and follow the path out to the Coastguard Cottages and then along past Seaford Head golf course before dropping down into Seaford.
Plenty of trains back to the start from Seaford (via Lewes).
Dogs welcome but there are a lot of cattle en route and your dog must be kept on a lead whilst animals are present.
Catch the 09:58 train to Glynde (towards Eastbourne) which arrives into Glynde for 10:18.
If you can, please RSVP to this walk via our Meetup site. This will give the walk leader a rough idea of how many people may be attending. If you are a paid up member of the Ramblers organisation, you can ignore any waitlist you may find yourself on.
We don't ask you to pay to join us on your first three walks. Afterwards, in order to continue walking with our group, you must become a paid-up member of the Ramblers. Click here (https://www.ramblers.org.uk/membership) to apply. The cost is very reasonable and there are also other benefits. Please then bring your membership card with you.
