We are the Penrith Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
We explore the countryside of Middle Eden, taking in the valleys of several of the Eden's tributaries. Starting from the picturesque village of Great Asby we walk over fields, pastures and alongside becks, on tracks and quiet lanes. After visiting the hamlet of Hoff we continue to the beautiful waterfall of Rutter Force, then return to Great Asby. Throughout there are lovely views of farmland and hillsides, and we will walk at a moderate pace.
Please be aware that many of the fields may have cows in them, and consequently the ground underfoot may be somewhat uneven and muddy after wet weather. We will be walking in a peaceful and little visited area , so some of the paths may be quite overgrown.
Dogs will need to be on a leash for much of the time.
