Overview

The walk climbs to the Stanegate, a military road servicing the frontier defence, loping west to Crawfield Crags then to the highest elevation on Winshield Crags.

The final 4 miles is a circular walk along the most scenic sections of Hadrian’s Wall taking in Sycamore gap and Crag Lough.

The walk ends back at the Sill.

The Sill is an information centre with cafe and lots of (pay)parking.
