A super walk in lovely countryside with outstanding views. Most of it is on good surfaces, so hopefully it won't be too muddy.
Starting from Hailes we initially follow the Cotswold Way on a steady climb up to the Beckbury Monument. From the monument we continue in a broad circuit, first following an old track, then on a lovely path with great views, to pass by Little Farmcote and then, finally, on a quiet country lane back down to Hailes.
We will stop for a short snack break, so bring some refreshments.
see weblink below for a map of the route
Note: for those interested there will be the possibility to enjoy some post-walk refreshments at the nearby Hailes Fruit Farm Cafe.
Although quite long, the climb up to the monument is pretty easy, apart from a very short steep bit at the end. The walk is all on good paths and tracks with about a mile of quiet country road at the end. There are no stiles. Possibility of meeting some livestock. Suitable for well-behaved dogs on leads.
