Circular 12.5 mile walk from White Hill car park.
Setting out walking west, the route will take in the ancient highways now known as the Wayfarer's Walk, the Robley Belt and the Harrow Way. On a good day, weather permitting, there should be views out over West Berks to the north and Hampshire to the south.
Once on Watership Down, the route turns south in the direction of Overton but never quite arriving at Overton. Turning east along the Harrow Way, passing the Ashe Warren estate to turn north towards Freemantle Farm, North Oakley and Walkeridge farm before returning to the car park at Stubbington Down.
The surface will be mostly grassland, farm tracks and minor roads. Sections are susceptible to laying water and some mud will be inevitable. Ground conditions are generally good.
Expect to encounter stock in the fields, primarily sheep and horses.
Please ensure that you are prepared with adequate clothing and boots to suit expected mid February conditions.
Furthermore, please bring sufficient food and drink for the day. Both refreshment stops will be exposed to the elements.
The walk is limited to 20 persons, please register using the link below by 6pm on Wednesday 19th February.
