Walk in the lovely agricultural areas between Hartington and Alstonefield, via Narrow Dale, then steeply down to join Wolfscote Dale and a direct route along the river back, near Beresford Dale, into the market place at Hartington.  The cheese shop is open if you want something a bit different and special.  Cafe and pubs at the end if you need them, toilets at the start, finish, and Alstonefield.
