Overview

A 10 mile strenuous walk from Heatherdene going up Win Hill (1440ft, a climb of about 700ft) via the shore of Ladybower, then gently downhill to Hope. Lunch stop in Hope with pubs, cafes and public toilets. The afternoon will take in part of the Derwent Valley Heritage Way along a disused railway.

Heatherdene Car Park. There is a £6 charge payable by card or cash. There is some free parking on the road, but it is often taken early. Meet at the toilets at the far (southern) end of the Heatherdene Car Park. Take the M18 towards Sheffield. Take the M1 north, leave at Junction 32 and take the A630 to Sheffield. In Sheffield, turn right onto Derek Dooley Way and continue onto the A61. After just over a mile, turn left at the roundabout. Turn right at the next roundabout onto the A57. After about 9 miles, just after the Ladybower Inn, turn left at the traffic lights onto the A6013. The Heatherdene car park is on the left after about 500 yards.
