Heolgerrig Pre-AGM circular walk

From the Red Lion Heolgerrig, we take a short walk through the Winchfawr Estate. Leaving the road to take a short steep incline to the ridge of the mountain above Heolgerrig village. Hopefully weather permitting, a lovely view of Pen Y Fan to the left and down the valley to the right. We continue along the ridge until we reach the road with a steep walk down back into residential area. Then taking a turn onto Gernant Lane joining on to the Waun. A short walk to the kissing gate, where we will take a recently cleared footpath undertaken by Merthyr Valley Ramblers, officially opened on 25th September 2024. This footpath will take us up a slight inclined route up to forestry, taking in the Cynon Valley to our left. We then will eventually re-trace our steps to complete our circular walk, making our way for a 3pm start for our AGM at the Red Lion.
