We are the Cambridge Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
This is a 7-mile circular walk which starts and finishes outside the Pear and Olive restaurant, High Street, Hildersham, Cambridge CB21 6BU. Sadly the restaurant only opens at 6pm
The 13 bus to Haverhill starts in Cambridge bus station and has a stop at Hildersham.
From Hildersham we walk up to the Roman Road, follow that for a while, and then gently make our way up to the summit of Rivey Hill. This is the high point of the walk (literally) since it is one of the high points in Cambridgeshire (at 480 feet) with views over Linton and the surrounding countryside.
Next we'll make our way down to Linton where there is a choice of 3 pubs and the Linton Kitchen, which has a lunch menu and wonderful cakes. It will be busy on a Saturday so we probably won't all get a seat inside.
Finally we'll follow the Granta Valley back to Hildersham.
