This 11 mile circular walk takes us through Danbury Country Park and Riffhams Park, landscaped in 1815 by Capability Brown's successor. A broad lime tree path , Grace's walk, takes us across Waterhall Meadows to Little Baddow Hall and church to the River Chelmer. The towpath leads to Paper Mill Lock where we can stop for lunch at the Tea Room or eat a picnic by the river. After lunch we make our way further along the towpath before turning uphill through some densely wooded areas of the Danbury Ridge. Crossing Woodham Walter Common , we then enter Poor's Piece before reaching Lingwood Common. As we climb to the Church there are some splendid views towards Billericay and if it is clear, the North Downs of Kent.
This is an energetic walk, but with some wonderful sights.
