This is a varied route offering open moorland, farm tracks, woodland, riverside paths and quiet lanes, with many stunning views, although there are a few steep climbs. The walk leaves Holne onto the fringe of Holne Moor towards Venford Reservoir; then descending towards Scorriton, Mill Leat and Burchetts Wood to Buckfast. The return to Holne is via Hembury Woods and Hembury Castle, an Iron Age hillfort back to the CP and the Church House Inn.
