Pleasant walk with some inclines through open and wooded areas.
Parking is free at St John the Baptist Church. The church in the tiny village of Hope Bagot is one of the most picturesque examples of a small Norman village church
The pretty Shropshire village of Hope Bagot is also one of the most ancient and most sacred sites in the country because of its ancient Yew tree and the holy well beneath its branches. The holy well and yew tree have been dated at over 1600 years old, meaning that this has been a sacred site since Roman times.
The church and conservation churchyard have been well cared for for many years and this continues today. The local people and the Friends of Hope Bagot Church put a lot of time and effort to promote and care for their church and its historic burial ground.
