This walk explores the pastoral farmland north of High Wycombe. Starting from the car park at Hughenden Church we pass Hughenden Manor walk westwards over Downley Common and on to West Wycombe where we glimpse West Wycombe church and mausoleum. We then turn north east to climb through farm land and woodland to Naphill and then drop down to Upper North Dean before a steep climb to Piggotts Wood. From here we turn south east and drop down to the Harrow public house before a very steep climb to Cryers Hill. From there we thread our way down the east side of Hughenden Valley before arrving back at Hughenden Church
The walk involves some steep climbs and at least 3 stiles. Paths can be very muddy at this time of year so suitable footwear is essential. A walking pole may be useful. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.
There are public toilets available at Hughenden Manor NT close to the start after which there will only be alfresco opportunities enroute.
Bring a picnic as we will stop for lunch at the most suitable location.
