Overview

We will head to Hungerford for a rare trip to the west of London. (We could possibly look to socialise in Reading with the moderate walk after.) The route will start down the canal paths out of Hungerford to the west then gradually snake our way to the hill range of the day, which includes Rivar, Ham, Inkpen and Walbury hills.

We will stop for a quick lunch on Ham Hill, before continuing the ridge and descending our way toward Inkpen.

There will be a cafe / pub stop at the Crown and Garter before continuing to Hungerford.

Please bring a packed lunch and sufficient water for an 18 mile walk.

I will walk to the pace of the group but would be looking to maintain a reasonable pace

Travel: Take the 9:05 from Paddington, change at Newbury (arr. 9:54, dep 10:11), arr. Hungerford 10:22.
