Hythe

Meet in Portland Road car park (height restriction) - £4 all day at this time of year - by The Green, Hythe behind the disused Duke’s Head pub. Alternatively, park free nearby along A259 Dymchurch Road/Military Road on either side of the Military Canal. This walk begins with a walk along the seafront before turning inland to cross the Military Canal passing by an old watermill before reaching Saltwood Castle and Church. From here we’ll cross Brockhill Country Park to reach the tiny chapel at Pedlinge before heading for West Hythe and returning alongside the Royal Military Canal to Hythe. Return eta 2.00 to 2.30pm Please bring a packed lunch and plenty to drink.
