Overview

This is a linear walk.

After meeting at Ickenham station we’ll pick up the Celandine Way near Swakeleys House and follow the path towards Ruislip.  As we leave the parish of Ickenham we’ll head north towards Bayhurst Woods.   The walk then takes us through the woods and around Ruislip Lido and finally into the suburban streets of Ruislip.  The walk ends at Ruislip station.

For those unfamiliar with the area there are some interesting sites such as the Jacobean Swakeleys House, Ruislip Lido (a popular site for films made in the 1950s and 1960s) and Manor Farm with its Great Barn and other medieval buildings.

Meet outside station. There is a car park (pay) next to the station. The walk ends at Ruislip station. Therefore, anyone using the car park will need to travel from Ruislip to Ickenham station, just one stop.
