Taking local bus from Callander to Strathyre (to fit with Saturday timetable). The walk to Callander is via the scenic route of the old railway along the side of Loch Lubnaig flanked by the mountains on each side, passing by mixed and coniferous woodland and rough grazing with good views of the loch and of Falls of Leny.
Bring bus pass or cash for bus journey to Strathyre.
Whole path is on prepared surfaces - walking shoes or boots, poles if used and gaiters not necessary.
Most of path is level (following the former railway) with a total ascent of 60-70m on couple of gently sloping inclines
