The famous Ingleton Waterfalls Trail starts by following the bank of the River Twiss north from Ingleton through Swilla Glan but cost £10 per person. However, other parts of the trail are free and well worth a visit, or you may head up Ingleborough (723mts), or along the old Roman Road towards Chapel-le-Dale.
Three walks will be available, and they will range from easy to strenuous depending on the walk selected. Full details of the walks will be circulated on the coach.
A Walk Leader - Dave Scowcroft - Clapham to Ingleton via Ingleborough. To keep up todate see the Fasebook page on the Southport Ramblers website.
B Walk Leader - Janet Loines - A circular walk from Ingleton of 9.3 miles, with1400ft of ascent. Passing Thornton Hall then along a lane to Turbary Road (a grassy path along a limestone ledge), dropping down into Kingsdale with a visit to Yordas Cave (a massive chamber once a show cave, but now requiring a torch, sure footedness and a sence of adventure). Returning to Ingleton via Kingsdale and Twistleton Scar End.
C Walk Leader - Debbie Baxter - 6 miles with approximately 750ft of ascent. Starting from the coach park we walk towards Thornton in Lonsdale. Our asent is at the start of this walk, but we will take our time, enjoying the views all around us. Then head towards Twisleton Scar End for lunch. We then descend towards Oddies Lane and continueour walk past waterfalls and quarries back into Ingleton.
