Due to near zero interest in the Isle of Wight walk (only one person  contacted the leader), the walk is cancelled,

 

Isle of Wight,Freshwater Bay to Yarmouth.

NOTE - POOR WEATHER:If the weather is forecasted to be poor, the walk will be cancelled.Therefore, don’t book your ferry crossing until the weatherforecast is known. However, don’t leave it too late as the ferrymay be fully booked. (Wightlink T&Cs: Refund? Yes, when cancelledat least 24 hours before outward departure. Where:        Meet 08:30am at Lymington Ferry Port, SO41 5SB. Grid Ref:OL22 SZ 333954.

Description:    Lymington to Yarmouthferry, crossing09:00am; check-in opens08:00am and closes 08:45am.Then catch Needles Breezer bus from Yarmouth to start point atFreshwater Bay. Walk back to Yarmouth 10.0 miles; finishing between4:00 and 5:00pm. Last ferry to Lymington 9:05pm (check-inopens 8:05pm and closes8:50pm).

Oryou can do a shorter walk and catch Needles Breezer bus back toYarmouth at the following distances 3.0, 4.0, 5.4, 6.8 or 9.0 miles.Then, either plan the rest of your day out on the Island or catch anearly ferry home.

Generallyflat, but with some inclines and declines along Tennyson Down. Mostlycoastal walking; great views out to the Needles, across the Solentand across the island.

Leisurelypace; bring fluids and a packed lunch or get something to eat at AlumBay.

COST:Ferry day return ticket for foot passenger - from £17. 40; Bus toFreshwater Bay - £3.00; Bus/Train travel from home to ferry port andback - £ as required; Car parking at Lymington ferry port - £9.00for up to 16hrs.
