Overview

West Mendip Walkers moderate 7.7 mile circular walk from Kilmersdon. We start by ascending the local hill associated with the nursery rhyme 'Jack and Jill' and then further on up through woods to Ammerdown, the Church of England Conference and Retreat Centre. We then turn east, passing the impressive Joliffe Column, built in 1853 to resemble the Eddystone Lighthouse. A gradual descent brings us to the Colliers Way, a disused railway line, which takes us back to the start. 188m of ascent. Dog friendly, just a few stiles.
