Kirkwhelpington, north east to Fawns - Broomhouse Farm, then through Wallington Estate to Cambo - Saugh House - Prior Hall and back to start on a quiet road, which eventually follows the valley of the River Wansbeck.
The first half of the walk is largely over fields and, at the time of the pre-walk there were areas which were very muddy or boggy. In particular, crossing one churned upon track was rather tricky, so poles and gaiters (if you use them) are recommended. The return journey is along a very quiet, gated road. There are several stiles, mainly over stone walls, but the only inclines are gentle and good views over the Wansbeck valley are afforded. There are several points of historic interest en route!
There will be a refreshment stop en-route at a location where there are two picnic tables (first come, first served!)
The walk is being lead by David and Pat Seymour.
