From Fairholmes visitor centre, we walk along the eastern side of Ladybower staying close to the reservoir through woodlands, and cross the viaduct to turn north. Here we have a coffee break with lovely views all around. We continue by the reservoir to Bridge End car park where we cross the road. A gradual ascent on a good track takes us onto Hagg Side, an open landscape with good views towards the western Peak District. Passing Lockerbrook outdoor centre, we continue through woods and descend to Derwent reservoir for our lunch. A short walk beside the reservoir then takes us back to Fairholmes.
Boots are recommended as the paths on Hagg Side are rocky and can be muddy.
Drinks and food are needed for our breaks.
There are toilets at the visitor centre.
In case of bad weather please contact the walk leader on the morning of the walk.
