We are the Welshpool Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
A walk of 6.5 to 7 miles on forest tracks, quiet roads and footpaths near Lake Vrnwy and its dam. 3 steady climbs. No stiles but one flight of steps by the dam, which can however be avoided. An option exists for shortening the route to about 3.5 miles.
Local grade Moderate.
All are welcome but no dogs on the walk please (except registered assistance dogs by arrangement).
Approaching Lake Vyrnwy area on B4393, pass the 40 mph sign for Llanwddyn/ Abertridwr then after 150 metres turn right into a small road and gravel area. Signed Abertridwr Nos 9 to 36. This is about 1 mile before you reach the Dam and 100 metres before the B4393/B4396 junction, just before the football pitch and small shop.
