The Limpsfield Way (opened 2022) is a circular route from Limpsfield Chart to the historic and lovely Limpsfield Village. Careful planning means it avoids the steepest paths that can be found around here! However, it is undulating with a more noticeable descent and ascent into and out of the village (mostly on paved surfaces). Elsewhere we encounter a mix of firm paths, some muddy areas (boots recommended, wellies not needed, poles if you use them!), quiet lanes as we pass through woodland, a golf course and the occasional field, with some lovely views.
Coffee stop at St Peter’s Church in the village – take-away coffees can be purchased as we pass Kiwi House shortly before reaching the church or bring your own. Lots of interesting history along the way, including famous graves at St Peter’s. Why not bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the walk?
See walk description for ascents/descents, no stiles, 2 – 2.5 mph (our usual pace).
Well-behaved dogs on short leads welcome by prior arrangement with the leaders – please text Anne on 07950 926132. Walk is described as leisurely but is borderline moderate, particularly if it has been (or is) wet.
