We are the Retford Ramblers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Leaving Tealby on the Viking way we ascend to go through Bedlam Plantation and onwards to The Ramblers Church at Walesby. Leaving the village we ascend again to re-join the Viking Way into Normanby-le-Wold, we then descend through pasture into Claxby. Some quiet lane walking before we pick up a bridleway at the side of Claxby Wood and back into Walesby. We then walk some distance along Catskin Lane before picking up a footpath across pasture to re-join the Viking Way back into Tealby.
This is an undulating walk with lots of uphill sections where we are rewarded by splendid views. Some tarmac walking on quiet country lanes.
There could be some muddy sections after recent rain.
We shall have a coffee stop at the Ramblers Church and lunch at Claxby.
Walking poles recommended for those who usually use them.
