Overview

Walking clockwise, Pauline and Ken's route sends us down Mires Road towards Wardlow Mires; soon picking up a stile to take a path overlooking Peter's Stone in the valley below. We then track NE across the A623 through Somerset House Farm, then fields passing Silly Dale and through the villages of Foolow and Eyam. There is a short road walk down Eyam Dale before we cross back over the A623 to Dalton Quarry Nature Reserve at Stoney Middleton.  After the interesting information boards, there is a steady climb up to enjoy the panoramic views of the quarry and surrounding area at the top. Then a lane and fields to reach Wardlow and Ravensdale before descending to Cressbrook Dale and Tansley Dale back to the car
