Overview

We have a  second opportunity to walk along the Llangattock Escarpment and then climb up onto the bleak plateau of Mynydd Llangattock. This is rough walking with indistinct paths on the plateau. As some of you know, from earlier in the year, it can be boggy and wet and in poor visibility can be very challenging! However in good weather it will be delightful. Please bring waterproof clothing; sticks are recommended.

I'm grading this as strenuous.

We will use the small carpark beneath the escarpment. It is best approached from the Heads of the Valleys road roundabout at Brynmawr, so you avoid a very sharp uphill turn from Gilwern, where you risk grounding your car.
