Overview

This stage of the walk goes along the north bank of the Thames for about 7 miles.  It passes Eton School and Oakley Court,  a large turreted house where Hammer films made their early horror films.  We continue along the river to Boulter's Lock, a popular spot where we can cross a bridge on to Ray Mill Island. The walk then deviates from the river and passes through Cookham, the home of the artist Stanley Spencer.  The Countryway continues across Cookham Moor and by the side of Cock Marsh, eventually coming to Winter Hill with views across the river to the Chiltern Hills and finally finishing at Marlow.

Bring a picnic, we will stop along the way for a drink and / or for tea and cake.
