For this linear walk, we will cover the length of the Regent's Canal from where it joins the Thames at Limehouse Basin, to the Grand Union Canal at Little Venice.
Some of the places we will pass on our journey:
Mile End Park with its four distinct sections of art, ecology, sport and wildlife.
Hertford Union Canal which was built to connect the canal to the River Lee Navigation.
Victoria Park which is the largest London municipal park.
City Road Basin which was built to serve the City of London.
Islington Tunnel where we have to leave the canal and will allow us to walk though the famous Chapel Market.
Camden Lock which is without doubt the most visited and busiest area of the canal.
Regent's Park and London Zoo where we pass several houses that look like they were built at the same time as the canal, but were actually built between 1988 and 2004.
Maida Tunnel were we again leave the canal and on our journey pass Crockers Folly.
Little Venice believed to have been given it name by Robert Browning who lived in a house nearby.
At Little Venice, where the walk finishes, you can either walk to Warwick Avenue tube station or walk a little way down the Grand Union Canal to Paddington Station.
You may wish to bring a packed lunch. But there will be numerous opportunities to purchase food and drink along the route.
Please bring your Ramblers card (if you have one) to help speed up the Ramblers register before we start the walk.
