Overview

A lovely circular walk  devised by Glasgow Countryside Rangers and waymarked by the Glasgow Ramblers linking the fabulous green spaces of Glasgow's Southside within the urban city of Glasgow

Originally called the Magnificent 7 as it incorporated some of Glasgow's major parks and large green spaces connecting Linn Park, Kings Park, Castlemilk Park, Fernbrae Meadows, Cathkin Braes and the Cart and Kittoch Valleys.

It was then renamed Magnificent 11  to represent the  total distance of the walk itself.

The walk begins at Linn Park the 2nd largest park in Glasgow the pathways following riverbanks, via natural woodlands, nature reserves and areas of special scientific interest (SSI), waterfalls, historic bridges, the conservation village of Carmunock and from the elevation of the Cathkin Braes panoramic views over the city of Glasgow itself.

The walk  can be divided into 4 separate sections, each accessible to join by public transport if walkers wish to shorten the distance.

There are informal paths through woodlands which may be very  muddy in parts, slippery steps when raining and 2 short but steeper sections going into the Cathkin Braes
