We are the Glasgow Young Walkers. We open the way for everyone in our local community to enjoy the pleasures of walking.
Join Glasgow Young Walkers for a walk around Glasgow's Magnificent 11 trail. The walk will follow each of the 4 routes that make up Mag 11, starting with Linn Park and then along to Queens Park and the Cathkin Braes.
Getting there
By car: Unofficial roadside parking is available at the starting point of the walk. I would recommend public transport over the car if possible. Non drivers will be expected to contribute towards fuel costs.
Public transport:
There are trains that run from Glasgow Central every half an hour to Muirend Train Station and then an 11-minute walk to the walk meeting point. There is also the number 6 First Bus, which runs towards Linn Park Avenue, which takes 53 minutes from St. Vincent Street in Glasgow.
Please note that the number of attendees is limited to 20 people for this walk.
This is a moderate walk that is suitable for all fitness levels. The ascent to the top of Cathkin Braes is steep, and after this point, it can be quite muddy and boggy. Please wear suitable walking boots and bring your full waterproofs. Please also make sure that you have food and water on you.
The plan is to go to a pub or café after the walk.
