We head through the park to High Tor, with views across the valley. The route continues along Giddy Edge, which is somewhat narrow and exposed. We then visit Lumsdale, with its waterfall, ponds and industrial archaeology. Crossing sometimes pathless access land, we return to Matlock via Sydnop Brook and another waterfall.

Care is needed on Giddy Edge, which is somewhat narrow and exposed, with a hand rail in places; it may be bypassed if preferred or if the ground is wet. You will probably come across short sections of rough ground, stiles, gates and other footpath furniture, hedges, pinch points. You may come across muddy/slippery/flooded sections of path, inclement weather, farm livestock & warning signs.
