This is the second attempt at Stage 1 of the Middlesex Greenway as the walk had to be cancelled due to flooding in March.
The walk is based on the first section of the Middlesex Greenway from Staines to Enfield, but we have taken the liberty to start along the Colne Valley Trail instead as it's more scenic. This leads us across Staines Moor and then goes through the Heathrow Biodiversity site for a lunch stop in the village of Harmondsworth with its church and historic barn. There are a couple of pubs and some benches for a picnic. This could be a drop out point with a bus to Heathrow. Another couple of miles will get us to West Drayton Station.
There are a number of SWR trains to Staines, arriving at 10:16 or 10:22. Oyster and Freedom passes are valid as far as Feltham. West Drayton Station is on the Elizabeth Line. Ticket required: single Feltham to Staines.
