From the RSPB car park we trace part of the nature reserve`s Wetland Trail around lakes and reedbeds created from former gravel pits, to cross the River Tame into Dotshill Nature Reserve. At the former Dotshill Quarry you will discover a centre for scuba diving and other outdoor pursuits. Later the Coventry Canal carries you over the Tame Aqueduct to the Fazeley Junction where the Birmingham and Fazeley Canal guides you back to Middleton Lakes.
There will be a short drinks stop and a slightly longer lunch stop - so remember to bring a drink and a packed lunch.
This is a joint walk with Sandwell Ramblers and Walsall Ramblers.
We look forward to welcoming you : however we do ask that walkers ensure they are fit enough for the walk they wish to undertake. We also recommend appropriate footwear such a walking boots and outdoor clothing suitable for our inclement weather. You can contact the group or walk leader if in doubt. Non-members of the Ramblers Association are welcome to join us on a couple of walks before deciding whether to join the group.
