A scenic walk along the quiet country roads of Great Cumbrae. On a good day there are great views across the Firth of Clyde to Bute and Arran.
The surface will be tarmac throughout with the first part to Fintry Bay on a road without pavement. Thereafter, we’ll be on pavement to the finish.
We will have lunch in Millport where there are plenty of pubs and restaurants. The next part of the takes us on a steady climb over a hill which descends to the ferry terminal where the walk finishes.
Back in Largs there will be ample opportunity to enjoy a final refreshment before catching the train back to Glasgow. The trains leave hourly at 7 mins past.
If you wish to come on the walk you must contact the leader by email, text or phone call but no more than 2 weeks in advance and please provide a contact number in case arrangements change.
Please notify the leader if you wish to meet at the walk start point or catch the train/bus further on route.
Walkers should not come if they have any covid symptoms.
